Data Availability Policy
Version 1.0 · Effective from 9 August 2026
This policy governs research data supplied to the Journal. Reuse rights over published articles are set out in the Open Access Publishing Licence; use of this website is governed by the Terms of Use.
1. Consent as the Basis of Publication
All content published by the Journal of Quantum Biosystems Engineering (“the Journal”), digitally published by InnoQlar Academic Press with article hosting services provided by PROTOCELL IO, is made available with the explicit consent of the Author(s), having passed the Journal’s quality control checks and received both Author and Editor approval.
No manuscript, dataset, figure, table or supplementary file is released to the public record until that consent has been recorded against the work and the corresponding editorial approvals have been completed. A work held for a Pre-Print, Single Issue or Volume Series remains unpublished, and its data remain confidential, until release is approved.
2. Scope: Raw and Supplementary Data
Raw data, underlying datasets, code listings, instrument outputs, appendices and other supplementary material supplied with a submission are not automatically processed under the Journal’s Open Access Publishing Licence. Such material is governed by this Data Availability Policy.
Supplied data are treated as confidential and are used solely for editorial assessment, peer review, quality control and preparation of the Version of Record. They are not disclosed, indexed, distributed or reused for any other purpose.
3. Confidentiality Until Author-Declared Suitability
Data supplied with a submission are kept confidential until the Author(s) expressly declare the material suitable for publication. That declaration is made by the Author(s) through their account, against the canonical identifier of the work, and is recorded as part of the editorial record.
Where the Author(s) declare that data are not for publication, the material remains confidential indefinitely, is not made publicly accessible, and is retained only insofar as is necessary to evidence the editorial process and the integrity of the published record.
4. Status of Published Data
Where the Author(s) consent to publication of data and the Editor approves release, that material is made available under the same terms as the Version of Record, as set out in the Open Access Publishing Licence, and is linked from the published article so that the association between the article and its data is permanent and citable.
Published data carry the same attribution, integrity and prohibited-use conditions as the article itself. No altered, partial or derived version of published data may be represented as the material of record.
5. Data Security and the Editorial Pipeline
The Journal operates a controlled editorial pipeline with role-separated access, recorded approvals and an append-only audit record of actions capable of affecting content. Access to unpublished manuscripts and their data is limited to the Author(s) of that work, invited co-Authors, and the editorial staff required to progress it.
Release to the public record is deliberately separated from editorial acceptance: acceptance places a work in the compilation stage, while publication requires the recorded approvals appropriate to the intended publication route. This separation exists to ensure that no work, and no dataset, reaches the public record without an accountable, logged decision.
Personal data are processed in accordance with the Privacy Notice.
6. Third-Party and Restricted Data
Where data are subject to ethical restrictions, participant confidentiality, commercial confidentiality, or third-party rights, the Author(s) must state this at submission. The Journal will not require publication of material the Author(s) are not lawfully or ethically able to release. In such cases a statement describing the access conditions is published in place of the data.
7. Withdrawal, Correction and Retraction
Where an article is corrected or retracted, associated published data are annotated with the same notice and preserved alongside the original record. Data are not silently altered or removed. Any change to the availability of published data is made only with a recorded editorial decision and, where consent is material, with the agreement of the Author(s).
