Acknowledgements

Version 1.0 · Effective from 14 August 2026

This page sets out the Journal's policy on acknowledgements, contributor roles, and funding attribution.

Acknowledgements

Authors may acknowledge individuals who contributed to the work but do not meet the Journal's criteria for authorship, such as those who provided technical assistance, writing support, feedback, or supervised the work. Anyone named must have given permission to be included, as the Editor may request confirmation of this at any stage. Individuals who made substantial contributions meeting the Journal's authorship criteria must be listed as Authors and not merely acknowledged.

Acknowledgements should not be used to record funding sources, grants, or other financial or non-financial competing interests; these must be declared separately in the relevant sections of the manuscript. Acknowledgements should be brief and factual. The Journal and Publisher do not permit unnecessary elaboration, excessive praise, or routine thanks to anonymous reviewers or handling Editors.
